HE CONTINUE TO MAN HIS GUN WITH TELLING EFFECT UNTIL HE WAS PERSUADED TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. HIS EXTRAORDINARY HEROIC CONDUCT IN THIS ACTION WAS WAS IN KEEPING WITH NAVY TRADITION.
