12 OR 16 VOLT OPERATION The DynaForce Racing Alternators can be used with 12 or 16 volt batteries. There is a small potentiometer on the backside of the unit (Figure 4). Adjustments are made with a small screwdriver using care not to rotate the adjusting screw beyond its physical limitations. When the screw stops, do not try to force it. The Alternator is set up for use on 12 volt charging system.

• 50 Amp - Turn screw CCW to Increase Voltage • 100 Amp - Turn screw CW to increase Voltage
To adjust, you will need a digital volt meter connected to the alternator post to ground or the battery posts. Start the engine and run the engine to a high idle while monitoring the voltage. Shut the engine off and adjust the potentiometer. Start the engine and monitor the output voltage. Repeat this process until the accurate voltage is achieved. For a 12 volt system, the target is 14.5 volts. For a 16 volt battery, the target will be 18.5 volts.
