Chatham & Wilkes Steel Trunk Case

Stunning trunk circa 1800s by Chatham & Wilkes, Wolverhampton England. Faux bois painted finish over steel. Vintage, amazing patina, manufacturer’s seal is in tact & the trademark sticker is still mostly in tact. 27.5”x16”x9.75” - would make a perfect display piece, coffee table or side table. It does not have the key but it’s not locked so it’s totally accessible. Appears to be the original paint & hardware throughout. Seemingly rare collectors item given the lack of information about them out there.
