Here is the ultimate addition to your garage or man cave. This is an Authentic Cosworth DFX V8 indy race engine turned into a custom table. Glass top is 36" diameter and table is 29" tall. The Cosworth DFX engine was built specifically for competing in the U.S.  It is a turbocharged version of Cosworth’s DFV engine used in Formula One competition.  Cosworth was partnered with Lola chassis and drivers such as Rick Mears, Johnny Rutherford, Al Unser and Bobby Unser.  In a fourteen-year span, starting in 1976, the DFX won 10 Indy 500 races.
Some more background:
The
DFV
engine was originally produced by Cosworth for Formula One motor racing.  It was developed in 1967 under Ford sponsorship for Colin Chapman’s Team Lotus.
Named
Four Valve
because of the four valves per cylinder, and
Double
as it was a V-8 development of an earlier four-cylinder FVA (

engine), making it a
Double Four Valve
engine.
90 3-liter V-8, initially producing over 408 bhp @ 9,000 rpm, and reaching over 500 bhp by the end of its remarkable Formula One career in the early 1980s.
The
DFX
, a turbocharged version of the DFV, was developed privately by the Vels Parnelli Jones team for the 1976 USAC season.


Cosworth became involved in the project soon after, and the engine was known thereafter as the DFX.  It went on to dominate Indy car racing in much the same way as the DFV had dominated Formula One.

Won all USAC and CART championships between 1977 and 1987.
Powered 81 consecutive Indy car victories from 1981-1986, and 153 victories total.
Was developing over 840 bhp by the time it was replaced.
