    LOT OF 12 POTTERY SHARDS NATIVE AMERICAN MOSTLY RIMS SMYTH COUNTY VIRGINIA
    AUTHENTIC ARTIFACTS
    Here for your consideration are 12 pottery shards recovered from Smyth County in western Virginia. These were collected years ago by Ralph Space of Space Farms Museum in Sussex County New Jersey at purchased at the shop there in the mid 1980's.
    Most of these  are rim shards of pots. Some are decorated with  beautiful designs  from the Native American Indians and date from the Mississippian period between 1000 and 500 years ago.
    These designs are typical for the area of the western part of Virginia which is known for many Mississippian occupation sites.  The designs are varied from incised  to marked and geometric. The shards measure L x W". They are in  excellent condition. Here is your chance to add some really nice  Native American Indian pottery shards of the Mississippian Period to your collection!
