Description

This (early 80s?) Pullman bag is part of a collection of Louis Vuitton vintage monogram luggage that all came from the estate of the late Frances Tallmer, the wife of the well known New York critic and editor, Jerry Tallmer (founder of the Obie awards).  Much of the luggage has flight stickers marked as simply Frances Monica, or the one monogrammed piece is marked FCM for her maiden name Choolfain.  Due to the absolute provenance by which I came about this collection, I have not authenticated them further.  All are pre date-stamping, and span a few decades of origin from the mid to late 1900s.  These bags are pre-owned, but most are still in good pre owned condition.
Details:  The  Monogram Canvas is vibrant in color with Natural Cowhide Handles & Trim , some wear of leather piping, handles and tabs and some color loss, gold tone hardware has darkened  in color, with top zipper closure, the brown Inner Lining is in good condition.  one side of one of the interior securing straps needs to be restitched ino the bag, it's shown loose.  Pre Date Code rare Saks model.
Measurements: 29 L x 9 W x 22 H without handle.   There are small marks to the exterior with visible natural wear, corners have  rubbing, no key.  Handle has minor wear from handling, but still very secure for clearly a well used piece of luggage.  One VERY small split in the canvas is shoen zoomed, i believe it was attempted to be repaired in the past- very hard to notice.
Please see photos which describe this Beautiful Vintage Bag, and questions are welcome.  The places this bag has been, and the events it's likely been to!  Please note: no returns are accepted due to the condition of the bag.  This should be purchased by someone excited about its history, as the rest of the collection has been.
Feel free to ask for any further detailed photos since eBay limits the number I can add, or any further photos of the other bags to show the provenance etc.
suitcase is left in condition as found, as i know many enjoy the patina of the leather over time for these much older pieces.  this is a perfect bag for someone who loves knowing its previous life, or wants a useable vintage bag that needs a very little DIY love to really bring together.  A little touchup and working some leather cleaner may go a long way.
The bag will need to be stored full of newspaper by the owner to help keep and restore the form. this is typical with the soft vintage bags.
