    Description

    Offered here is this original, WWII USMCR  Marine Corps Reserve dogtag and sterling silver sharpshooter badge belonging to James E. Ruane Sr.  The dogtag is the nickel silver type and shows some tarnish discoloration, but is in good shape otherwise.  The sharpshooter badge is unmarked, but tests silver and is guaranteed to be. Below is an excerpt of Mr. Ruane's obituary which I found online.

    13 January 2011.  James E Ruane Sr., a lifelong resident of Malden, MA and a United States Marine Corps veteran and survivor of the Battle of Iwo Jima, James passed away at home early Thursday morning at the age of 85. After attending Boston University studying business and law, he worked 30 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General.
